Website Cost in Dubai: What You Pay For and How to Budget
Website cost in Dubai explained: what drives the price, one-off build vs monthly plan, hidden costs like domains, hosting and VAT, and how to compare quotes.
By Quickship Editorial Team · Published 21 October 2026
The website cost in Dubai depends less on the design and more on scope: how many pages, whether you sell online, whether you need Arabic, and who pays for hosting, domain and upkeep after launch. A brochure site and an online store are different projects, and the cheapest quote often leaves out the running costs. Quickship's business website plan is AED 49 a month with your own hosting and domain, or AED 99 a month with both included.
This guide breaks down what you are paying for, the costs that appear after launch, and how to compare a one-off build with a monthly plan.
What drives website cost in Dubai
Seven things decide most of the price. Use them to read any quote.
1. Number and type of pages
A five-page site (home, about, services, gallery, contact) is a small job. Each extra page type, such as service detail pages, branch pages for Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or a blog, adds design and build time. Repeated pages built from one template cost less than pages that are each designed from scratch.
2. Design approach
A ready-made theme adapted to your brand is quicker than a custom design. Custom work makes sense when the site is central to how you sell. It costs more because someone designs each screen before anyone builds it.
3. Online selling
E-commerce adds a product catalogue, cart, checkout, payment gateway, delivery options and order emails. Many UAE shoppers expect cash on delivery and WhatsApp contact as well as card payment, which adds integration work. A store is a different budget line from a brochure site.
4. Arabic and right-to-left layout
A bilingual site is more than a translation. Arabic needs right-to-left layout, fonts that read well, and a second set of page titles and descriptions for search. Budget for translation and for checking both versions on mobile.
5. Integrations
Booking systems, CRMs, WhatsApp buttons, maps, Google Analytics and marketplace links each add setup time. Custom integrations with your own software add more.
6. Hosting and domain
Every site needs a domain and somewhere to run. A .ae domain is registered through one of the accredited registrars listed by TDRA's .ae Domain Administration. The .aeDA sells names to registrars at a standard wholesale rate, but each registrar sets its own retail price, so domain costs vary by provider. Hosting varies with traffic and the kind of site.
7. Maintenance after launch
Software updates, security fixes, backups, broken-link checks and content changes continue for as long as the site is live. Some agencies include them, some charge hourly, and some leave them to you.
One-off build vs monthly plan
There are two common ways to pay for a business website in the UAE. Neither is always cheaper. The right choice depends on how long you keep the site and how much you want to manage yourself.
| One-off build | Monthly plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront payment | Usually a large share of the total, often split into milestones | Little or none |
| Ongoing cost | Hosting, domain, maintenance and changes billed separately | A fixed monthly fee covers an agreed set of services |
| Who maintains the site | You, or the agency on a separate retainer | The provider, as part of the plan |
| Changes after launch | Often quoted per request | Depends on what the plan includes |
| Budget predictability | High at the start, uneven later | Steady month to month |
| Best for | Complex or custom sites you plan to manage in-house | Small businesses that want a working site without a project budget |
To compare fairly, add up the total over the same period. For a one-off build, that is the build fee plus three years of hosting, domain, maintenance and change requests. For a monthly plan, it is the fee times 36, plus anything the plan excludes.
Hidden costs to ask about before you sign
These are the items that most often turn a low quote into a higher bill.
- Domain renewals. Domains renew every year or every few years. Ask who pays and whose name the domain is in.
- Hosting renewals. Introductory hosting prices often rise at renewal.
- Business email. Email on your own domain is usually a separate subscription.
- SSL certificate. Many hosts include one. Check, because browsers flag sites without it.
- Paid plugins and themes. Some have yearly licence fees.
- Content. Copywriting, Arabic translation and photography are often excluded.
- Change requests. Find out what a small text or photo change costs after launch.
- VAT. The Federal Tax Authority lists the UAE VAT rate as 5%. Check whether each quote includes it.
- Privacy and data handling. If your contact form collects names and phone numbers, the UAE's personal data protection law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, applies. Budget for a privacy notice and sensible handling of form submissions.
- Exit costs. If you leave the provider, can you take the domain, content and files with you?
How to get comparable quotes
Send every provider the same short brief. It saves time and makes quotes comparable.
- What the business does and who the customers are.
- The pages you need, and whether you need Arabic.
- Whether you will sell online, and which payment and delivery options you need.
- Integrations, such as WhatsApp, booking or a CRM.
- Who will update content after launch.
- Your preferred domain, and whether you already own it.
- Your launch date.
Then ask each provider to list what is included, what is excluded, and the yearly running costs after launch.
How Quickship's AED 49 and AED 99 plans compare
Quickship's business website plans take the monthly approach. There is no large upfront project cost.
| Plan | Monthly fee | Annual total | Hosting and domain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website | AED 49 | AED 588 | You provide your own |
| Website + hosting + domain | AED 99 | AED 1,188 | Included |
Both plans include a site designed around your services and brand, built mobile first, with WhatsApp and contact forms on every page. Page titles, descriptions and a sitemap are set up so Google can find you. The process is simple: choose a plan, share your logo, services, photos and contact details, review the site and ask for changes, then go live on your domain.
The AED 49 plan suits a business that already has hosting and a domain. The AED 99 plan suits one that wants a single monthly cost for everything. If you need a complex online store, a custom platform or heavy integrations, those are larger projects and should be scoped and quoted separately.
Whichever route you choose, judge the website cost in Dubai over the life of the site, not just the first invoice.
Frequently asked questions
Is a monthly website plan cheaper than a one-off build?
It depends on how long you keep the site and what the one-off price leaves out. Add up the build fee plus hosting, domain, maintenance and changes over three years, then compare that with the monthly fee over the same period.
Do I own my domain if an agency registers it?
You should. Ask for the .ae or .com domain to be registered in your company's name, with login details for the registrar account. If the agency registers it in its own name, moving later can be slow.
Do I need a privacy policy on a UAE business website?
If your site collects personal data, for example through a contact form, the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 applies to how that data is handled. A clear privacy notice is the simplest way to explain what you collect and why. Take legal advice if you process sensitive data or operate in a free zone with its own rules.
Does VAT apply to website design in the UAE?
The standard UAE VAT rate is 5%, and VAT-registered suppliers charge it on taxable services. Check whether each quote you receive includes or excludes VAT, so you compare like with like.
